Thank You Line 3

THANK YOU! THE LINE 3 REPLACEMENT PROJECT IS OFFICIALLY COMPLETE!

The Line 3 replacement project is complete. The new Line 93 is now in service!

The Ag Energy Alliance cannot thank enough the thousands upon thousands of Minnesotans for supporting the Line 3 Project. Minnesotans know the Line 3 replacement project is the safest and most environmentally friendly way to transport critically necessary natural resources across our state, and it would not have been possible without the multitude of Minnesotans who supported and worked on the project. Farmers and Ranchers, small businesswomen and men, and so many others stood together through the permitting and construction process.  Line 93 is now in service to deliver energy communities all across northern America rely on.  From everyone at the Minnesota Ag Energy Alliance, we thank you!

Go Line 3!

MINNESOTANS ARE CHEERING #GOLINE3!

After nearly six years of thorough vetting and scientific scrutiny by Minnesota’s finest agencies, Minnesota’s great workers have gotten the green light on Line 3, construction is safely under way, and Minnesotans are cheering #GoLine3! Thousands of Minnesotans have gotten back to work, communities are already feeling the positive impacts, and Enbridge continues to do things the right way. Here’s what’s happening:

  • Bemidji, MN: “hotels and stores are busy, restaurants have been able to stay open due to increased business, and our downtowns have been impacted positively.” - Corey Westrum

  • Grand Forks, MN: “In less than a month since the final permit, more than 2,000 union members have already started working. More are being added every day as the project progresses, peaking at over 4,000 workers. The impact of these workers is real and is already being seen in communities across northern Minnesota. Hotels that were struggling to attract guests are now filling up. Restaurants forced to close their dining room are now doing more takeout orders than ever and stores are trying to keep up with demand.” - Luke Bruns

  • Crookston, MN: “Like any big project, it is important to talk to the communities, businesses, local leaders, and tribes that could be impacted. And that is exactly what has been done with the Line 3 replacement project. In addition to communicating with the tribes, since 2015, Enbridge has conducted more than 70 public meetings to hear from the neighboring communities, local leaders and others. This project continues to highlight the importance of working with the public and addressing concerns as needed as we work to complete this project.” - Kendra Johnson

AG ENERGY ALLIANCE STATEMENT ON WALZ ADMINISTRATION FRIVOLOUS APPEAL OF LINE 3 APPROVALS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“The delays this frivolous Walz Administration appeal of the Line 3 Replacement Project could cause will hurt our farm communities and working families in Northern Minnesota and across our state.

It is extremely disappointing that the Walz administration would sue another branch of Government to try to block the most studied $2.6 billion private investment in history in our Northern Minnesota communities."

MINNESOTA NEEDS MORE CAPACITY TO SERVE FARMERS.

Agriculture, small businesses and towns across Minnesota are captive to the transportation systems in place, meaning that when one form of transporting goods is stretched to capacity and beyond, all available alternative means of transport are impacted. The most effective way to relieve this overwhelming pressure on infrastructure is to expand.

Currently, the tremendous production growth and demand for Canadian and North Dakota crude oil has resulted in pressure on our rail systems that are creating bottlenecks for other commodities and commerce. For example, 5000 oil tank cars cross our state weekly where there was virtually no equivalent demand just five years ago.

Farmers and small businesses need greater access to our rail system than is currently available; and, new crude oil pipeline capacity can help solve this problem.

Watch this video to learn more.

PIPELINES ARE THE SAFEST AND MOST EFFICIENT METHOD OF CRUDE OIL TRANSPORTATION

Minnesota has always been a corridor for petroleum distribution and traffic. Over fifteen percent of the crude oil in the United States is shipped across the state via rail, trucks, and an efficient and safe network of pipelines.

The many miles of pipeline that currently serve Minnesota – and that have served that state for decades – safely and efficiently carry crude oil across the state to distribution points in Superior, Wisconsin and beyond.

Just-released industry-wide 2015 pipeline safety statistics indicate that an astonishing 99.999% of crude oil and petroleum product barrels delivered by pipeline arrive at their destination safely.

THE LINE 3 REPLACEMENT WILL DELIVER JOBS & TAX REVENUES: EFFICIENTLY AND SAFELY.

The Line 3 Replacement project is receiving support across the state because there are many benefits to shipping as much crude oil as possible through safe, efficient pipelines.

Line 3 Replacement will handle 760,000 barrels of oil each day –
These restored barrels will no longer be supplemented by train cars across the state, though cities.

Line 3 Replacement improves the business of small gas stations and petroleum-based retailers across the state –
Retailers of petroleum products benefit from more efficient, consistent supply.

Line 3 Replacement makes more rail assets available for Minnesota farmers –
More rail assets available means "more grain on the train."

Line 3 Replacement helps farmers, and the entire Ag industry –
More capacity to ship more grain will help co-ops, elevators and small communities.

Line 3 Replacement will create jobs along its 337-mile path –
People across the state will benefit from 8600 jobs created by the pipeline.

Line 3 Replacement will create thousands of additional jobs –
The $2.9 billion investment will drive massive equipment and service purchases.

Line 3 Replacement helps improve retail sales and service business opportunities –
Business communities across the state will benefit from the pipeline development.

Line 3 Replacement will pay $19.5 million annually in property taxes to local governments
Each year, city and county governments will get big budget boosts from the project.
